Maintaining Your Lash Extensions: Tips for Success
WASH Daily
Sold in the studio: Mini Lash Cleansers $10 (all clients are required to own one) If you have extensions, you need a lash cleanser
Why is it important to wash your lashes? Natural oils, debris, old skin, all of these will get trapped in your lash line and affect your retention. This will also make your lashes suffocate and FALL OUT. It will kill your naturals. If you do neglect cleaning your lashes, it can very likely lead to some uncomfortable outcomes.
This is a positive change to help keep you accountable and protect your lash investment. Clean Lashes are HEALTHY lashes.
Brush Regularly
BRUSH YOUR LASHES LIKE YOU BRUSH YOUR TEETH, 2X A DAY!
By BRUSHING your lashes daily, you not only ensure that your lashes look their best, but it also stimulates new lashes growth.
Use a clean spoolie brush to gently comb through your lashes, keeping them neatly separated and free of tangles. Brushing your lashes daily helps prevent them from twisting or clumping together, ensuring a natural and uniform appearance.
Protect While Sleeping
Its pretty straight forward, your lashes also need healthy lash naps too! Try not to sleep on your face, this will cause fall out of course and tugging and pulling is never a good idea. Purchasing a satin pillow case is worth the investment
Invest in a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and prevent your lashes from becoming tangled while you sleep. Alternatively, you can use a lash-friendly sleep mask to shield your extensions from rubbing against your bedding.
Avoid Excessive Heat and Humidity
Exposure to high temperatures and humidity can weaken the adhesive bond and cause your extensions to lose their shape. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to keep your lashes looking their best.
Be Gentle
Treat your lashes with care and avoid rubbing, pulling, or tugging on them. Use caution when applying skincare products and makeup around the eye area to prevent accidental damage to your extensions.

Oils break the glue bond from your eyelash extension to your natural lash. If the glue bond is weak, you will unfortunately lose some lashes. With this in mind, choose oil free facial cleansers and lotions. Gel, cream. We do carry a lash cleanser in store alongside an aftercare kit . This can also be used as a gentle face cleanser and is designed to prolong your extensions and integrity of your natural lashes. If you have extensions you need a cleanser! No exceptions to this.
It’s also good to avoid touching your lashes since we naturally produce oils in our body. Some people have more oily skin then others so it’s crucial to follow aftercare to keep the adhesive strong!
Oily skin? Use oil blotting sheets through out the day!
NOTE: Some of us have oily lashes. Not skin, LASHES. This means that oil is constantly being produced on our lashes, causing extensions to have bad retention and slip off. If this is you, extra diligence with cleaning and fills will need to happen but most likely, it will come down to you not being an ideal candidate for lash extensions. Yes, I will accept your fate and cry with you.
Proper aftercare is vital for the health and longevity of your lash extensions. To ensure optimal results, it’s essential to avoid certain products and activities that can compromise the integrity of your lashes. Steer clear of waterproof mascara, oil-based skincare products, and cleansers containing harsh ingredients such as alcohol or glycolic acid. These products can weaken the adhesive bond and cause damage to both your natural lashes and extensions.
ABSOLUTELY NO MASCARA OR STRIP LASHES
Cleansing your lashes regularly is key to maintaining their cleanliness and overall health. Ideally, you should cleanse your lashes daily using a gentle, lash-safe cleanser. This helps remove dirt, oil, and debris that can accumulate on your lashes over time, preventing bacterial growth and potential irritation. By incorporating daily cleansing into your routine, you can keep your lashes looking fresh and prolong the lifespan of your extensions.
While lash extensions are designed to enhance the appearance of your natural lashes, some individuals may still desire additional volume or definition. While it’s possible to use mascara on lash extensions, it’s essential to choose the right formula and application technique to avoid damaging your lashes. Opt for a water-based mascara specifically formulated for use with lash extensions, and apply it sparingly to the tips of the extensions to prevent clumping and premature shedding.
